THE LIFE OF

ST. JOHN BERCHMANS

PATRON SAINT OF ALTAR SERVERS

An inspiring story about a young man who chose to become a Jesuit based on the heroic example of St. Aloysius Gonzaga. With a strong devotion to the Blessed Mother, and a strong desire to practice virtue, young Berchmans would become one of the greatest saints in the Catholic Church. This story is sure to touch the hearts of young and old alike. St. John Berchmans was canonized in 1888, and his feast day is celebrated throughout the church on November 26.

“Christian artists: I wish to remind each of you that the close alliance that has always existed between the Gospel and art means that you are invited to use your creative intuition to enter into the heart of the mystery of the Incarnate God and at the same time into the mystery of man.”
